2011 Cogito ergo
articles and comment:
(This is an old-fashioned "monthly" magazine. Updates do appear, but are not frequent.)
GW's lowest UER was near 4%, then, halfway through his second term, voters gave Congress to the Libs,
who immediately began to "fix" the problems some folks had getting home loans. Up went the UER. Next,
they gave the White House to the Left, as well. Does the economy these days remind you of FDR's?
Yessir, the government's the answer to high UERs. Can you say "double dip?"

Big equals small from Rhode Island to Oregon, says Art Hyland, Contributing Editor
The disease goes to the bone, says Hyland. While waiting for the POTUS to introduce his "new" jobs
program, Art sent this to the mag. There may be as many as twenty people in Oregon who
will get the point.

Limbaugh says that this sudden upgrade of the famous judge's intellect in media which formerly treated
Thomas as moronic is a kind of storm warning pointing the journalistic Left at a critical target. Also part
of this has to do with the man's wife -- who might provide an opportunity to force recusal.

Atlas Shrugged Movie is Raising Cain
2011 -- Ayn Rand’s epic novel, Atlas Shrugged,
is finally coming to the silver screen. Whether you’ve read the book or
not, you won’t want to miss Part 1 of the film, which debuts around the
country the weekend of April 15-16-17th. So far, the nearest
confirmed theaters are in the Seattle area. You can help bring it to
Portland, or a theater in your city, by “Demanding” it at the link
below. The book was published in 1957, but the producers of the film
have wisely set it in 2016. This way, Americans can see what’s coming
if we don’t turn around the collectivist government in Washington.
It’s a great story, and a powerful warning. Don’t miss

OMED: Many early pieces in Oregon Magazine were written in a version of Netscape
Composer that in modern browsers produces black diamonds with reversed question
marks inside them. These are almost always quotation marks, apostrophes or dashes.
When you see text that contains those black diamonds, it means I haven't gotten around
to repairing the problem, yet.
Lastly, all of our early work URL suffixes were "htm." When the computer gods decided
to change those to "html," problems arose, but changing the suffix from one to the other
may make the page you want available.
Final Thought: If you think this magazine is a graphic mess, you should see my garage. (LL)
