Big Government Dot Com Detonates "Community
(Millions, perhaps billions, of your tax dollars go to groups with dozens of innocent-sounding names. These groups, many of them quietly connected with each other, wash these government grants for each other, then use the cash to achieve their political goals, which in the main have to do with supporting leftist candidates and illegally shaping census and election outcomes.)

The Duck Hunter's new old 1949 Ford 2-door sedan. You can read about him down below in the Classics section. What you need to know about the car is that when you lift the hood, you can see the engine, and the twin glasspak mufflers make a sound so gently elegant that it brings tears to the eyes of old men who once owned one during their highschool days in the Fifties.

Still Battling Bad Guys in Afghanistan  (held over from July)

The photo comes to us via KB7SYY's son, who is stationed in Iraq. (8/30/09 - just got back!) A fellow soldier presently fighting in Afghanistan took it during action in that land, and has named it "dogface."  The weapon the dog is firing is apparently a 50mm cannon. Public reaction to this "shot" is amazing.

Freedom of the Press?
(An x-link from Drudge, this is about step one in the White House's plan to eliminate, among other internet publications, Oregon Magazine. Not that they are likely even aware that this publication exists. What they are aware of is that publications like it exist. In the modern era, beginning with the communist takeover of Russia, and later the fascist reformation in Gernany, control of the sources of information was a key to success. These days in this country, the internet is of minor importance when compared with conservative radio, so this "power" to shut us down will not be used for some time. Think of it as a Leftist weapon in reserve for some future need - for example, when "fair practices" legislation has brought down non-state-approved talk radio, the internet's ability to transmit audio will need to be controlled.
