Still Battling Bad Guys in Afghanistan  (held over from July)

The photo comes to us via KB7SYY's son, who is stationed in Iraq. (8/30/09 - just got back!) A fellow soldier presently fighting in Afghanistan took it during action in that land, and has named it "dogface."  The weapon the dog is firing is apparently a 50mm cannon. Public reaction to this "shot" is amazing.

Nancy Pelosi tells the truth:
(As reported November 6th) Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was "absolutely" committed to doing so.

Oregon Senator Votes for "Baucus Bill" October 13, 2009 -- Ron Wyden of Oregon is on the Senate panel that is considering the so-called "Baucus Bill," today.  By the time you read this (in fact, probably by this afternoon) he will have voted for it. The Congressional Budget Office CBO), touted as an "independant, non-partisan" evaluation body, has said that this "bill" will insure the uninsured and lower the deficit.
