Printer Releases Unique
Format for Oregon Sites
West Winds Press, a division of Portland's Graphic Arts Center Publishing, has released a
unique format for planning anyone's next weekend in our fair state: "52 Weekends in Oregon."
A regional guidebook concept becomes a 52-card deck printed both sides and including a 4-color photo, and text on directions with 6 icons that indicate whether the destination is kid-friendly, dog-friendly, accessible by mass transit or bikes, handicap-accessible and free or inexpensive. What, when, where and how plus an internet info address are on each card. As an out-of-state tourist, an uninspired local, or frustrated parent, any of these destinations can provide a amemorable weekend. The cards come packed in a sturdy flip-top box suitable for shelf storage.
Destinations include Crater Lake, John Day Fossil Beds, Upper Klamath Lake, Columbia River Gorge, Pittock Mansion, Wildlife Safari, Spirit Mountain Casino, Pendleton Roundup, Powell's City of Books, Enchanted Forest Park and 42 more. The photos are a collection of superb images that have earned Graphic Arts Center a long-established reputation. And, just released is "52 Weekends in Seattle" in the same card format, to be followed shortly by Weekend suggestions for Colorado and San Diego. Contact email@example.com for details on where you can find this guide to places to eat, play, relax, dance, explore and more. (Fred Delkin)
