Regarding 2012 A.D.: How did the Mayans know the re-election of Obama could cause the end of the world?.

Harry Reid Compares Opponents of Health Care Reform to Supporters of Slavery...

Oh, really?  A Democrat who pretends that by political party he has historic connections to American Civil Rights?  The editors of Oregon Magazine dare him and the millions of Oregon liberals to read this: Ken's "Congress"

------------------

The State of the Nation:
Well, we've had a year of Democrat control of the whole show. Many of you, totally disgusted with the presidential candidate the so-called Right had offered, either voted for Obama or didn't select a top of the ballot candidate, at all. The liberals took the day, and so the nation. This looks like the right time to view the election results. We'll do it here mostly with headlines to external web locations. These headlines make the point. Clicking on them will provide you with the reasons that headline was used. (LL/OrMag)

In the unbelievable department
Obama: Too much debt could fuel double-dip recession...

This is Obama's method. If you are the sort who judges people by what they say
instead of what they do, you are his natural victim. We'll exclude war, here. War
is the most important job national government has, and, looking at the history of wars,
is something that should be its job. (Texas and Rhode Island could not have
teamed up and on their own won WWII.) So looking at the other types of spending,
Obama and his friends who run Congress have now spent more than any other such bunch
in this period of time in office. If you just got married, your future children already
owe a ridiculous amount each in additional future taxes == just to cover the principle
and interest for what this bunch has done to date. (How much? It looks like somewhere
between $45,000 and $75,000 to us.)

For him to talk about problems with public debt is like a shark expressing concern
about the risk factors facing herring schools.

So, we are looking at financial problems? No doubt, Bush will be the villain of the
scenario, and the solution to spending too much will be spending more.

This is all interesting to watch.  In my opinion, it has been made possible by the
educational system, the mainstream media and the entertainment industry, all of
which were taken over by liberals in the past forty years.  The next election will
tell the story.  We'll know in 2010 for sure.  If both houses of Congress remain in
control of the "progressives" after next fall's election, the final nail will be in
the coffin lid.  (LL/OrMag)

Broder: Budget-buster...
Nine of 10 Republicans and eight of 10 independents said that whatever

even Democrats agreed this is likely.

POLL: Support for Health Care Plan Falls to New Low...
(November 23) Only 16% now believe passage of the plan will lead to lower health care
costs. Nearly four times as many (60%) believe the plan will increase
health care costs. Most (54%) also believe passage of the plan will
hurt the quality of care.

Blogger Obamacare comment:
You don't need 2000 pages. You need two. One
page of tort reform with a 'loser pays' stipulation, and one page of medical insurance deregulation so that 1300 insurance companies can compete for everydollar. Costs would drop 30% in one year.

   Entertainment:
Merry Christmas to all: The term "holiday" comes from "holy day," and in this case refers to the birth day of Jesus Christ. Not that any such reference will appear in many, if any, government locations in Oregon. (Public schools included.) The U.S. Supreme Court, unaware that the words"separation of church and state" do not appear in the Constitution, has seen to the present state of things. If you're curious what the actual words put there by the Founding Fathers mean, it is this: There shall be no official state church in this land. The Pilgrims left England to get away from the official state church, not to get away from God.

Still Battling Bad Guys in Afghanistan  (held over from July)

The photo comes to us via KB7SYY's son, who is stationed in Iraq. (8/30/09 - just got back!) A fellow soldier presently fighting in Afghanistan took it during action in that land, and has named it "dogface."  The weapon the dog is firing is apparently a 50mm cannon. Public reaction to this "shot" is amazing.

UPDATE: CHARGES FILED IN HEALTH CARE TOWN HALL BEATING OF CONSERVATIVE AFRICAN-AMERICAN MAN... (X-Link)

Nancy Pelosi tells the truth:

(As reported November 6th) Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was "absolutely" committed to doing so.

Oregon Senator Votes for "Baucus Bill" October 13, 2009 -- Ron Wyden of Oregon is on the Senate panel that is considering the so-called "Baucus Bill," today.  By the time you read this (in fact, probably by this afternoon) he will have voted for it. The Congressional Budget Office CBO), touted as an "independant, non-partisan" evaluation body, has said that this "bill" will insure the uninsured and lower the deficit.
